Dear Contestant:

Thank you for participating in the 2008 Lenawee County Fair Queen Pageant.

We will meet Thursday, July 10, 2008 at 11:00 for a group picture at Trestle Park.

The queen luncheon will be July 14 at Hidden River North Clubhouse.  This is located off of E. Beecher. If location changes, you will be notified.  Lunch will be served at 5 p.m. therefore you should arrive by 4:30 to socialize and quiet the nerves. Dress casual for the luncheon.  This is all about you, so please dress appropriately.  You will decide (majority rules) what attire for the parade.  After the luncheon you will be interviewed by the judges.  You will also present your talent as you would at the pageant. Your score is divided in two parts, 40% interview/talent and 60% fair pageant.  One more thing, please ask someone to be your escort at the pageant, thus making your first appearance on stage less intimidating.

It is very important that I know if a piano is needed for your talent presentation for both the luncheon and the pageant. 

Parade is July 20 at 1:00 p.m. Line up takes place by Cutler Dickerson/Lenawee Rec. Bowling Alley.  You need to arrive by noon for line up, receive your flowers. My plan is to have sashes and signs ready for you at the luncheon.  Acquiring a convertible is your responsibility.  We find string/cord is least likely to damage the exterior of the car therefore please bring string/cord.  After the parade you are free until 4:30; at that time you must report to the band shell area. Bring your flowers and sashes with you.

April Klann, dance coordinator will contact you for group practices.  This is important so please make every effort to be at practices.  We will go through the format at the Bandshell Saturday, July 19, 9:30 a.m. 

The queen and court will have several public appearances throughout the week.  Joy Wonderly, fair board member, becomes your contact person and will coordinate the appearances.   Please free up your schedule for fair week July 20-26.
